Product Description
Stage 1: On receipt of items delivered in for Repair / Overhaul / Calibration is our process of "Booking-In" the items into our facility
This involves a number of steps briefly outlined below, ensuring an uninterrupted transition from start to finish whilst on site with us at Trent Instruments.
1) Date Received Log:
- Logging the date received is critical in ensuring your item / items are completed within the requested timeframe.
2) Item Identification & Delivery Note Inspection:
- Critical in ensuring that the item / items received match the item / items stated on the delivery note.
- Catalogue and Serial Numbers, Quantities, Customer Information and any Special Instructions are all checked.
- Any discrepancies can be acted upon immediately, informing the customer so that the necessary amendments can be made early on, avoiding unnecessary delays during the repair process.
3) Item / Items Condition:
- An initial detailed inspection of the item / items condition is carried out.
- This inspection is crucial in determining whether the item is repairable or B.E.R (Beyond Economical Repair).
- Any major M&D (Missing & Damaged) parts can be identified.
- B.E.R and M&D Reports are implemented in both of these instances along with photographic evidence.
- B.E.R and M&D Reports are then relayed back to the customer for evaluation.
4) Trent Worksheets Raised:
- All items received at Trent for Repair / Overhaul / Calibration are allocated their own unique Trent worksheet.
- Trent worksheets are specifically tailored for the repair / overhaul / calibration of that particular item.
- All of the above information for that item is transferred onto the Trent Worksheet.
- All items are then stored in an allocated space in our pre-repair bay area, prior to being transferred into the workshop for it's scheduled work to commence.
5) Trent Sales Order Raised and Information Backed-Up on our "Mains" Realtime Workshop Electronic Schedule:
- This is the final process of "Booking-In" which involves creating a Trent Instruments Sales Order, encompassing all of the above information as well as generating another copy onto our "Mains" Realtime Workshop Electronic Schedule.
- Essentially this means that there are always three identical copies of information relevant to any one particular repair / overhaul / calibration item.
- This ensures realtime accuracy and total traceability of any item within our facility at any given stage of the repair / overhaul / calibration process.
